Today's Monday Market Report has us in the beautiful City of Highland Village located in South Denton County and near Lake Lewisville.

There are currently 28 homes actively for sale in Highland Village with six new listings taken this week ranging in price from $275,000 to $1.6 million.

Seven houses went under contract this week bringing the total number of homes under contract to 28. So far this year, 22 properties have closed ranging in price from $300,000 to $1.2 million with a median days on market of 66 days.

I also want to talk to you about your property tax protests.

The Denton County Appraisal District has posted on their site that they will be sending the property tax notices out on April 18, 2018. According the Texas state law, once you receive your notice from your county appraisal district, you have up to 30 days to file your notice of protest. So if you receive your notice middle of April, that means you have until the middle of May to notify them of your intent to protest.

Even though you technically have until the middle of may, we believe that it’s a good idea if you feel you’ve been over-assessed to get your protest filed prior to May 1.
