Ready or not, Independence Day is one week from today! Can you believe it?
There are all kinds of events happening around the Metroplex this weekend and early next week to celebrate the holiday, and we've compiled the following list of some of the biggest and best.
Saturday, June 30
Allen USA Celebration
Allen's community celebration always takes place the last Saturday in June, allowing the event to be a standout among other area cities' celebrations. This year the musical lineup includes Infinite Journey, the M80s, and the Emerald City Band. Other fun activities include food vendors, a kid zone, a Jurassic Zone, a ninja challenge, the kidMania Sprayground at Celebration Park and, of course, the firework display.
Sunday, July 1
Viridian Stars and Stripes Celebration
Bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the fireworks show that will fill the sky Sunday, June 1 in Arlington at the 3rd Annual Viridian Stars and Stripes. The event will also include live music, food, adult-sized inflatables, zip lining, a giant slide for the kids and more!

FWSO Concerts in the Garden: Old-Fashioned Family Fireworks Picnic at Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Join the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in the Botanic Garden as they honor Independence Day with a display of musical patriotism. Bring the whole family, pack a picnic dinner and enjoy the show! The event takes place Monday-Wednesday beginning at 8:15pm each evening.

Tuesday, July 3
Addison Kaboom Town
This may be one of the most well-known (if not THE most well-known and well-attended) Independence Day event in the Metroplex. It's been named as one of the top fireworks shows in the nation! The event features an airshow, live entertainment, concessions, games, rides and ends with a fantastic fireworks show. The event is free but admission to Addison Circle Park will be cut off once capacity is reached. But you can see the fireworks display from any of the watching parties taking place at surrounding restaurants and hotels. Gates to Addison Circle Park open at 4:00pm and entertainment begins at 5:00pm.
Midlothian Independence Day Fireworks Display
The City of Midlothian will be hosting their own incredible fireworks display Tuesday evening at the MISD Multi-Purpose Stadium beginning at 9:15pm. The gates to the stadium parking lot open at 6pm, so get there early to grab a good spot for the show! Just bring a picnic dinner and some games to enjoy while you wait.
Mansfield's Rockin' 4th of July
Mansfield's biggest and boldest event of the year is their Rockin' 4th of July celebration. Held at Big League Dreams Stadium, families can enjoy bounce houses, games, entertainment, and (of course) a fireworks display to top off the event.
Southlake Stars and Stripes
Southlake's patriotic festival will include music by the Southlake Community Band, crafts, midway games and inflatables for the kids. Fireworks will begin sometime after dark (around 9:30pm). Activities will be held at Frank Edgar Cornish, IV Park; McPherson Park; and the Rustin Pavilion. The entire event is free and begins at 6:00pm.
Light Up Arlington
Visit Downtown Arlington to check out their annual Independence Day celebration which will have three Kids Zones, train rides, food trucks, carnival concessions, and live music on multiple stages. The event begins at 6:00pm and the fireworks display which is set to music from 95.9 The Ranch will begin at approximately 9:45pm.
Farmers Branch Independence Day Celebration
Farmers Branch provides one of the few, low-level fireworks shows in North Texas. The celebration also features live music from a high-energy dance band, a free KidZone area, concessions and more! Gates open at 6:30pm at the Farmers Branch Historical Park and blankets and lawn chairs are encouraged!
Tuesday, July 4
Flower Mound's Independence Fest
Celebrate the holiday at Flower Mound's annual Independence Fest featuring Pat Green as the headline act this year. The full day of activities begins with the annual Children's Parade at the Lewisville ISD School Administration Building and will conclude with a fireworks finale at around 9:50pm at Bakersfield Park. Gates for the evening events open at 5:00pm.
Red, White and Lewisville
As part of the Sounds of Lewisville Summer Concert Series, attendees can enjoy a special show on July 4th followed by a fireworks show at 9:30pm. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the music. Local food vendors like Cavalli Pizza and Tin Man Diner will also be serving up some yummy options to munch on while enjoying the show. The event opens at 6:00pm with food trucks, inflatables and a face painter.
Freedom Festival and Fireworks
Join Castle Hills for their 20th annual July 4th Freedom Festival at the Village Shops & Plaza. The fun-filled community event starts at 5:30pm and will have a DJ, free activities for children (including the largest inflatable maze in Texas), concessions, and a fireworks display at dusk.
July Jubilee at Little Elm Park
Enjoy a patriotic festival by the lake which will feature activities for the kids, vendors, live music and a fireworks display at 9:30pm. Admission to the event is free, but you'll have to pay to reserve a parking spot in the park. Or you can take the free shuttle from the Athletic Center. All the fun begins at 5:00pm.
Frisco Freedom Fest
Join the City of Frisco at approximately 10:00pm (after the FC Dallas match) for their 20-minute fireworks show. But the real party starts at 4pm in the Plaza where they'll have a Children's Expo with hamster ball races and zip lines, live music, the Taste of Frisco food exhibit, and their Hometown Hero Exhibit showcasing the Frisco police and fire departments.
Arlington 4th of July Parade
Check out the city of Arlington's oldest, longest running event - their annual 4th of July Parade! The parade is from 9:00am-11:00am, and they've had to adjust the route this year due to construction on Abram St. so be sure to check out the new route map!
Irving's Independence Day Parade and Reception
Start the day off at Irving's community parade in the Irving Heritage District and then head to Heritage Park to enjoy food, live music, free children's activities and more. The parade begins at 9:00am and the reception at Heritage Park goes from 10:00am-Noon.
Red, White and Boom
Combine the charm of Historic Downtown McKinney with Independence Day celebrations and that's a win for us! The event will include a parade, classic car show, live entertainment and a fireworks show at Craig Ranch. The day full of events kicks off with the parade at 10:00am and the later events at Craig Ranch will begin at 5:30pm with the fireworks show starting sometime around 9:45pm.
Fair Park Fourth
You can celebrate your love for America at Fair Park in Dallas. The event begins at noon and will include concerts, midway rides, water inflatables, and a fireworks show starting around 9:37pm (yes, that's real). Admission to the Midway is $5 online and $8 at the gate.
Fort Worth's Fourth
Visit the Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth to enjoy a day of fun family activities and music along the Trinity River. The free KidZone will include activities like pony rides, face painting, bounce houses, a levee slide, tubing and more. At 8:00pm there will be an F-16 Flyover and at 10:00pm the largest fireworks show in North Texas will take place!
