Outdoor Living Trends You'll Love in 2022
We believe your backyard can truly be an extension of your home with enough love and care. And here in Texas, it's possible you can entertain outdoors year-round depending on what the weather is like on any given day.
Here are 7 outdoor living trends that are taking over in 2022.
1. Patterned Concrete
If you choose to refinish or expand your patio, it doesn't have to be plain ol' concrete! There are lots of companies who have the ability to pattern the concrete with everything from an abstract pattern to making it look like flagstone.
2. Outdoor Work Spaces
With many people still working from home, it can get boring working in the same indoor space all the time. So, why not create an area outside where you can work during the day? You can create an office in an outdoor shed or simply set up work at an outdoor desk or table.
3. Pergolas
Pergolas continue to be a popular outdoor living trend, creating a space that truly feels like an outdoor living space. You can make them as simple or as fancy as you want them to be - hang up some lights, install a ceiling fan, have them open or covered.
4. Boho Chic Decor
Boho style isn't just for the indoors. There are lots of outdoor pillow, furniture, accessories, and more that incorporate that boho vibe. And what we really love about the bohemian style is that no two spaces ever look the same because it's all about being eclectic and embracing your own unique style!
5. Outdoor Reflecting the Indoor
Instead of purchasing traditional patio furniture, consider bringing more comfortable furniture you'd usually find indoors outside. We're talking plush sofas, coffee tables, side tables, etc.
6. Vertical Gardens
We've seen the love for plants increase dramatically over the last few years with many people starting their own backyard gardens and increasing the number of house plants they've acquired. Another plant-lover trend you may want to try out is starting a vertical garden. This is a great option if you don't have a ton of space in your backyard. You can find a vertical rack online, build your own, or commission a local woodworker or metalworker to make you a custom one.
7. Smart Technology.
Anyone else love being able to control your home systems using your cell phone? Why not utilize that with your backyard space as well? You can install programmable lighting, bluetooth sound systems, and more. There's pretty much a "Smart" version for everything these days!
