With Halloween being on a Tuesday this year, we understand trick-or-treating door to door can be a little well, tricky. Or maybe your kids just aren't into the whole door to door thing. That's why we've taken the initiative to put together this list of the 10 places to take your kids trick-or-treating around DFW this year - whether it's a trunk-or-treat event or trick-or-treating on a farm!
Where: Toyota Stadium
When: October 21, 2017; 4-9pm
Cost: $10 Per Person, Children under 2 are free, Parking is free
Designated the Mayor’s Safe Trick-Or-Treat Zone, Friscovania features a haunted carnival for kids, live music, entertainment and a wicked runway show with some of the biggest names in fashion. Proceeds from the event benefit City House.
Where: Dallas Zoo
When: October 26-29, 2017; 5-8pm
Cost: $10 per person for ages 3 and older and includes six candy coupons per guest for each paid admission; Additional candy coupons are available for $5 for another six coupons
The Dallas Zoo's gates will creak open after-hours for Halloween Nights Presented by Texas Instruments. Dress your kiddos in Halloween costumes, trick-or-treat in the wildest setting in Dallas, and catch special events and activities throughout the Zoo!
Where: Heritage Farmstead Museum, 1900 W. 15th Street, Plano, TX 75075
When: October 27, 2017; 10am-12pm
Cost: $7.00 for children ages 1+ (pre-registered); $8.00 child admission on the day of the event; $3.00 general admission for adults
Put on your favorite costume and come Trick or Treat at the Farmstead. Activities include trick or treating, chicken feeding, tractor rides, a craft, and so much more! This event is open to ages 1-9. You can register for the event online here.
#4: Boo at the Zoo
Where: Fort Worth Zoo
When: October 27-29, 2017; 10am-5pm
Cost: Free with admission (guests and members receive six Boo at the Zoo treat coupons per admission ticket/Zoo membership); Additional treat coupons can be purchased for $3/six coupons
Get ready for Boo at the Zoo! Enjoy treat stations, carnival games, animal shows and more. This entertaining daytime event is free with Zoo admission and packed with fun for the whole family.
Where: Shops at Highland Village
When: October 28, 2017; 2-5pm
Your kids 12 and under can trick-or-treat around the Shops at Highland Village on October 28. There will also be a child & canine costume parade and contest, hay rides and carnival-style games.
Where: Dallas Arboretum
When: Saturday, October 28 & Sunday, October 29;10am-4pm
Cost: Included with general admission, $15/adults, $10/children (3-12), 2 & under are free (Parking: $8 advanced, $15 at the door)
Celebrate Halloween with trick-or-treating throughout the garden, face painting, a petting zoo, and a magician in Pecan Grove. Guests are encouraged to bring their own trick or treat bag.
Where: Trietsch Methodist Church, 6101 Morriss Rd, Flower Mound, TX 75028
When: October 29, 2017; 4-6pm
Join Trietsch for their Trunk or Treat which will feature bounce houses, activities, trunk or treating and Pumpkin Prayers. A fantastic community event that will allow your kiddos to dress up, snag some candy, and have tons of additional fun!
#8: Treat Street
Where: Fort Worth Stockyards
When: October 31, 2017; 5-7pm
Dress your family in their Halloween best and head on down to the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards on Tuesday, October 31! Join Stockyards Station from 5-7pm for costume contests, pumpkin decorating, games, hayrides and trick or treating at participating Stockyards Station shops.
Where: Main Street, Lake Dallas
When: October 31, 2017; 4:30-8pm
This event is a staple in the Lake Cities area and offers a fun, safe environment for kids to trick-or-treat in the night of Halloween. Because of their large attendance last year, they'll have THREE trunk or treat locations this year which will be connected via hay rides.
#10: Scare on the Square
Where: Historic Downton McKinney
When: October 31, 2017; 4-7pm
The shops in downtown McKinney and McKinney Main Street invite you to come out on Tuesday, October 31 from 4-7 p.m. and enjoy the sights of hundreds of ghosts and goblins young and old in Historic Downtown McKinney. This annual event provides interactive activities to celebrate a safe, secure, family fun Halloween event.
