We know there are those of you out there who believe "running is fun..." For you we've curated this list of 5K's, half marathons and marathons happening here in DFW through the month of October.

What's on Tap 5K

Saturday, September 29 2018 @ 6:30pm - 201 Town Center Lane, Keller TX

The Second Annual What's on Tap 5K Walk/Run takes place in the evening of Saturday, September 29 on the beautiful Keller Trails. After the race, stick around for a post party and, of course, the award-winning handcrafted beers found at the Keller Town Square What's on Tap location. 

Each race finisher will receive a What's on Tap 5K finishers glass, two glasses of beer, and a commemorative race shirt.

Frisco Arts Walk & Run

Saturday, October 6 2018 @ 8:30am - 6801 Gaylord Parkway, Frisco TX

Sign up for Frisco's first arts-themed 5K along the beautiful grounds of Hall Park! Walkers and runners can be inspired along the way by art, music, and dancers. Top winners in each category will win a unique work of art by local artists from Frisco Fine Art, and all participants will receive an arts-themed finisher medal. 

After the race is over, cool down at the community arts festival taking place from 9:00am-2:00pm at the Texas Sculpture Garden where there will be live jazz music, indoor art, local artist booths, an interactive children's area, gourmet food trucks and more!

Winning the Fight's Stompin' Stigma 5K and Fun Walk

Saturday, October 13 2018 @ 8:00am - Forestwood Middle School, 2810 Morriss Road, Flower Mound TX

Join Winning the Fight for our their Addiction Awareness 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk. This event's purpose is to bring awareness and help eliminate the stigma and judgment associated with addiction and mental health.

There will be live music, sponsor booths, raffle prizes, face painting, breakfast and more!

6th Annual Argyle Run for Our Sons 5K/1M Fun Run

Saturday, October 13 2018 @ 8:30am - Hilltop Elementary School, 1050 Harrison Ln, Argyle TX

Wear your craziest argyle socks to this race to help "sock" it to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Proceeds from this event will benefit Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD).  And this year's route will be both fun and challenging, taking runners through a few rolling hills and beautiful scenery in and around the heart of Argyle.

Come enjoy raffle prizes, activities for the kids, and running with the Chick-Fil-A Chick'n!

Nebraska Furniture Mart Halloween 5K

Join Nebraska Furniture Mart for their Halloween 5K which will benefit the Cancer Support Community North Texas. There will be a costume contest, age bracket medals, and fun activities for the kids. But be sure to register by September 30th so you can receive a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt!

Get an early start on your Halloween celebrations at the fourth annual Shannon Brewing Monster 5K Walk/Run. The race will be followed by post party fun, music, pancakes, and (of course) award-winning handcrafted Shannon Brewing Beer. Also be sure to rock your Halloween costume because in addition to awards for fastest times, they'll also be giving away awards for Best Costume!

All participants will receive a Shannon Brewing 5K finishers glass, two glasses of beer, and a long-sleeve race shirt.

TXFallenPD Tribute Event

Saturday, October 20 2018 - Shops of Highland Village - 3600 Justin Rd, Highland Village TX

The TXFallenPD Tribute Event is a community event with activities including a 5K run and civilian bike race in the morning and a Police Officer bike race and Police Officer Obstacle Course Competition in the afternoon. Even if you're not participating in one of the races, come enjoy the live music, raffle prizes, silent auction, kid zone, food and drinks throughout the day.

Midlothian Fall Festival 5K Cupcake Run

Kick off your day with a fun 5K Cupcake Run and then stay to enjoy all the fun at the 41st Annual Fall Festival where there will be food, shopping and entertainment!

There will be awards and, of course, everyone will receive a cupcake afterwards!

Spooky Trot at Brookhaven College

This annual fun run takes donations and raises funds for the college's student food pantry. Your entrance fee is 10 non-perishable food items or a monetary donation of $10. In addition to prizes for fastest running times, prizes will also be awarded for Scariest, Funniest, Cutest and Most Outrageous costume.

Monster Dash 5K/1 Mile Fun Run

Saturday, October 27 2018 @ 7:00am - Blue Stem Park, Alliance Town Center

This event hosted by the Greater Keller Chamber will have a 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run and Health & Wellness Expo for participants. All registered race participants will get to enjoy a free pancake breakfast and will be entered into a $500 drawing!

Lewisville Glow Run 5K and Monster Mile

Saturday, October 27 2018 @ 5:00pm - Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park, 1301 South Railroad St, Lewisville TX

The Lewisville Glow Run features a fun off-road course with plenty of surprises along the way. Everyone who participates will receive a shirt, medal and two glow products. 

After the race, enjoy free admission to the Spooktacular Trails festival where vendors will be providing activities at their booth for the crowd to enjoy as well as kid-friendly haunted houses, carnival games, face painting and a ghostly hayride.
