There's a reason so many parents load up the car and take their kids to splash pads when the weather gets warmer here in Texas. Not only is it enjoyable for the kids, but I think it's actually fun for the parents too!

We scoured the southern part of the Metroplex and found these 7 splash pads near Midlothian, TX.

Clayton W Chandler Park (Mansfield)

1530 North Walnut Creek Dr, Mansfield TX 76063

The addition of a spray ground/splash pad at the park was included in the Phase II renovations which wrapped up in August 2017. Other amenities at the park include tennis courts, baseball fields, a concession stand, playgrounds, skateboard plaza, walking trail and stocked fishing pond.

Don Misenhimer Park (Arlington)

201 E Lonesome Dove Trl, Arlington TX 76002

Arlington is home to three great splash pads, all of which will be open as of Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, May 25, 2019). The spray ground at Don Misenhimer Park features fountains and fixtures perfect for younger children - like a dolphin fountain and spraying palm trees. In addition to the spray ground, the park features a basketball court, pavilion, two playgrounds, a practice field and restrooms.

Brantley Hinshaw Park (Arlington)

2121 Overbrook Dr, Arlington TX 76014

Also perfect for the youngsters is this spray ground which features a spiral, spraying tunnel and arch as well as ground jets. Other park amenities include a basketball court, practice fields, picnic area and two playgrounds.

California Lane Park (Arlington)

2001 California Ln, Arlington TX 76015

The kiddos will love jumping and splashing in this park's spray tunnel and arch, ground jets and spinning water play station. The park also features a pavilion, practice fields, basketball courts and two playgrounds.

Splash Pad at George Brown Plaza (Waxahachie)

209 North Jackson St, Waxahachie TX 75165

Cool off in this Waxahachie park's newest addition. This fun splash pad is located in downtown Waxahachie behind The College Street Pub on Jackson Street. So before or after you cool off at the splash pad, you can go exploring downtown Waxahachie!

Sycamore Spray Grounds (Fort Worth)

2525 E Rosedale St, Fort Worth TX 76105

The Sycamore Community Center's free splash park features tipping water buckets and interactive sprayers and is open every day from 11am-7pm. Just keep in mind that proper swimwear is required!

Klyde Warren Park (Dallas)

2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Dallas TX 75201

What's not to love about Klyde Warren Park? Grab some food, play on the putting green, bring your pooch to play at the dog park, or hang out with the kiddos at the Children's Park. During the summer, they'll especially love the whimsical caterpillar fountain that turns into a beautiful butterfly as the water jets outward like wings.
